Landscape with Bathhouse Installation

Landscape:
The landscape project uses 2x4 pieces of lumber to create an abstracted version of an actual landscape. Inspiration for the model came from an aerial photograph of a marble mine. Mapping was done based on the original image as seen in the images below (from left to right: original image, contour mapping, flow mapping, crack diagram, water flow diagram, depth epicenter diagram.)

Bathhouse:
The bathhouse intervention aims to create a programmatic area that is naturalistic. This is achieved by mimicking the linear and curling forms found in the landscape. Inspiration was taken from Buddhist architecture as well as Japanese architecture.  The linearaity and curling of the landscape drives the shape of the pools, the circulation, and the structure.
